Ogun Assembly Endorses ROMO’s Affiliation with National Motorcycle Union

The Ogun State House of Assembly has formally recognized the Riders and Owners of Motorcycle Organization (ROMO) as an affiliate of the Motorcycle Operators’ Union of Nigeria (MOUN).

This development follows the assembly’s adoption of a report presented by the Committee on Transportation, chaired by Hon. Wasiu Ayodele. The report emphasized ROMO’s potential benefits from joining MOUN, including enhanced access to federal government initiatives and empowerment programs.

According to the report, ROMO sought legislative support and recognition to become a member of MOUN and advocate for its members’ rights and interests at the national level.

MOUN, a federally registered trade union, oversees commercial motorcycle operations nationwide, providing a framework for operators to advocate for their rights and interests. By affiliating with MOUN, ROMO seeks to amplify its voice in national transportation policies and improve working conditions for its members.

The assembly’s endorsement is expected to bolster the transportation sector in Ogun State, aligning with Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun’s strategic plans for economic growth and development. ROMO members can anticipate improved benefits, enhanced services, and increased safeguards as a result of this affiliation.
