Ogun Police Probe Two Suspected Domestic-Violence Deaths

The Ogun State Police Command is investigating two separate suspected domestic-violence cases involving the deaths of women in different communities in the state.
In the latest incident, police operatives from the Kemta Division arrested Tajudeen Yekini following the reported death of his wife, Toyin Edunjobi, at their residence in Ogungbade Village, near Ayerose, in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, after the couple’s son raised an alarm. Neighbours who responded reportedly found Edunjobi motionless and alerted the police.
Detectives from the Kemta Division visited the scene, evacuated the woman’s remains to a mortuary and arrested Yekini. Police said investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
The case came shortly after another suspected domestic-violence incident in Ibogun Akinode, where Odukoya Bidemi was allegedly involved in the death of his wife, Adenike. Police reportedly said Bidemi later died in a road accident at Iyana Coker Bus Stop along the Ifo axis while fleeing the area.
The two incidents remain under investigation, and the circumstances surrounding the deaths have yet to be conclusively established.
