Sagamu Celebrates Heritage at 42nd Sagamu Day Grand Finale
The finale celebration was held on the 31st of October 2026 at Aafin akarigbo ti ile Remo ita oba sagamu around 2pm, the event began with the moderator of the program otunba okemakinde and Mrs Adebowale comfort who held how the celebration programs should be, first on the agenda is opening prayer by pastor mare Samuel titilayo for christian, Muslim mr haruna Kabir Aare elegbe sagamu whom they prayed for the opening of the program and thanking God for making this 2026 sagamu day celebration come to fulfilment.
Then the recognition of His Royal majesty Alayeluwa Oba (Dr) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi the Akarigbo Paramount ruler of Remo land, prince Adewunmi Adedeji ogunsanya the odofin of Remo land, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun the Ogun State Governor, Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji Representing Remo Federal Constituency,Alayeluwa Oba Rufia Olusegun Odumesi the lemo of ode-lemo, Alayeluwa Oba Oluseyi Muyideen Ogunsola soile 1 the ayanperwa of sotubo, Alayeluwa Oba Adewale Osiberu Iruganyin Ekun III the Elepe of Epe, Alayeluwa Oba lasisi Gisanrin Olowogboyemeji II the odofin of soyindo, Hon. Oladimaje Oresanyan the commissioner of environment of Ogun state, Hon. Funmilayo Efuwape, Alhaji shamusideen Adebayo Apelogun the national president of All-rounder, Omooba Damilare Mohammed Bello the Ogun state house of Assembly, Mr kofo Ayodele the chairman of the sagamu day 2026 planning committee, Dr oluwatoyin Taiwo former chief of staff, chief Mrs folasade Iyalode of Remo land and other diginitries present for the Grand finale.
The moderator congratulate everyone seated for the celebration of sagamu day, The first group to greet the Akarigbo of Remo land are the Anolo ruling house ,market women and men associations,the council of otunbamojo akarigbo of Remo kingdom,egbe oloja, egbe arowosaye to Ile Remo, egbe degbuyi Remo, the collectives, the sagamite club, egbe aduragbemi, national burgers of Nigeria, sagamu zenith club, egbe bobaselu ti ile Remo,egbe bobaselu obirin,egbe surulagba,egbe idado, egbe efuwape group egbe elegbeji, egbe eleran, egbe ifedapo,chamber’s international Remo club of Nigeria and other egbe.
After the greetings of the egbe to the Paramount ruler of Remo land the National Anthem,Ogun state anthem, sagamu song of unity was sang with a stand ovation
The chairperson prince aAdewunmi Adedeji Ogunsanya odofin of Remo land he thanked the akarigbo of Remo land for the opportunity giving to him to be part of today’s celebration thanked everyone for their great support for the success of today’s celebration,then princess Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji the representative of Remo federal constincey give a word she thanked the akarigbo and the Odofin and everyone that followed her down here she said thanks for the celebration of sagamu day celebration and the history that continue to move and the embarking on our culture, custom, tradition with our heritage.
Royal message from his Majesty the akarigbo of Remo land on the occasion of sagamu day 2026, Alayeluwa said it’s a great privilege to welcome you all to the grand finale of sagamu day 2026,this celebration brings us together to honor our heritage,renew our bonds and reaffirms our shared responsibility for the progress of our beloved community, he thank all the king’s and other prominent people present for coming to celebrate the sagamu day.
He said we have in the last three years changed the trajectory of sagamu day celebration,the foundation was laid at the 2024 sagamu day chairedby Mr Segun oluwaji FCA,that was when they recorded the single highest donation ever, with the sum of 100 million,the following year was 2025 by Mr Tayo rabiu with the sum of 110 million,he appreciates the chairmen of 2024/2025.
He thanked the sons and daughters of sagamu and all the supporters and sponsors for making this day a reality and a special one.
The Prince Dapo Abiodun gave his speech
He thanked everyone the executive chairman of sagamu he said your presence today had made this occasion a succes the sagamu day it’s the identity of the people of the cultural heritage of Ogun state they are ogijo sagamu ode road among several others that they will continue this infrastructure he said that all son’s and daughters af sagamu to stay connected to their homes and those in the diaspora.
