Sagamu Youth Association Holds Crucial Meeting Ahead of 40th Sagamu Day Celebration

In preparation for the upcoming 40th Sagamu Day celebration, scheduled to hold from Friday, October 18th to Saturday, October 26th, the Sagamu Youth Association (SYA) gathered at the palace of the Akarigbo on Tuesday, October 8th. The meeting aimed to deliberate on the lineup of events for the youth-focused day, slated for Thursday, October 24th.
Chaired by Comrade Akande Ifedayo, chairman of the planning committee, the meeting brought together members of the planning committee, members of the new SYA executive led by Com. Olugbenga Lawal, stakeholders, and representatives from all zones in Sagamu.
Attendees include; Comrade Oluwanisola, Ajewole Fatai, Lahbash, Ogbeni Mustapha Lukman, Taiwo Sosanwo (former acting coordinator sagamu youth council), Adebayo Sosanya, Comrade Akande Ifedayo (chairman of the planning committee), Com. Olugbenga lawal (ambassador easy) and many other youth leaders and representatives.
Key decisions reached at the meeting include a morning rally to kick-start the youth day, followed by a celebratory event featuring the public introduction of Board of Trustees members, inauguration of the new SYA executive, and central working committee. Additionally, some individuals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Youth representatives were encouraged to mobilize their communities to participate en masse, emphasizing that this celebration will be unprecedented. Furthermore, customized vests will be available for purchase at 5,000 Naira to add to the event’s aesthetic appeal.
The planning committee reassured attendees that meetings with community stakeholders are ongoing and forthcoming to ensure the event’s success. Subsequent meetings will be held for further planning and deliberation.
