The Sagamu Youth Association, led by Comrade Olugbenga lawal has made an urgent plea to Engr. John, Supervisor of the Sagamu/Remo Transmission Station Office, to address the non-functional T4 60MVA Transformer serving Sagamu Town.

The transformer’s month-long outage has severely impacted the local power supply, disrupting small-scale businesses and causing hardship for households.

According to the association, the prolonged outage has rendered many businesses unable to afford alternative energy sources, compromising the quality of life for residents. The situation necessitates prompt intervention to restore reliable power supply to Sagamu Town.

In June 2023, the Transmission Company of Nigeria installed a 60MVA power transformer to boost electricity supply in the area, increasing the wheeling capacity of the substation from 48MW to 96MW . However, the current outage underscores the need for swift action to resolve the issue.

The Sagamu Youth Association has copied the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Osogbo Region, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), and Sagamu Local Government Area Authorities on their request, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

The association’s president, Comrade Olugbenga Lawal, Ambassador Easy, has appealed for immediate attention to rectify the situation and ensure a stable power supply to Sagamu Town.
