Sagamu Youth Association Pleads With Governor Dapo Abiodun to Help Salvage Reoccurrence of Flooding in Sagamu
In a statement signed by the Sagamu youth association titled “my special appeal”, the president of the Association, Com Olusegun Sikiru, has appealed to the executive governor of Ogun state, prince Dapo Abiodun to please do everything possible and urgently to salvage the drainage and sewage situation which has caused a lot of havoc in Sagamu.
Success congratulated the governor on his reelection as the returning governor of the state, stating that his victory signifies a charge for more work, which he believes will be delivered diligently.
“My main purpose of writing this public letter to you is to draw your attention to issues of our drainage and sewage system in Sagamu especially at the Makun axis of the Local Government.
“ It is no more news that the problem of flooding from Ajaka to Awolowo Market through Ogunyanwo Street to Isale Ojumele has led to not just loss of properties, but precious lives of our teeming youths.
“The latest havoc occurred yesterday when a young boy was swept away by the flood, while many suffered severe injuries. Properties lost could not be enumerated.
“I am therefore using this medium to make a special appeal for a quick intervention to arrest the ugly scenario. Only God knew what the boy could have become if his life was not cut short by the avoidable perennial flooding in the area. May the soul of the boy rest in perfect peace, while we pray that the good Lord will comfort the family to bear the irreparable loss.
“There are other areas of the Local Government requiring the same attention. But, as a matter of priority, we want the flooding problem in this area to be permanently solved to avoid further losses. A stitch in time, they say, saves nine.
Many thanks anticipating your urgent intervention” the statement Fully reads.
