Hon. Soyoye Akinyode Solomon, popularly known as SAWI, has formally declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Remo Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections after picking up his nomination and expression of interest forms.

The declaration marks SAWI’s official entry into the race, underscoring what he described as a long-standing commitment to public service, grassroots development, and policy-driven leadership across Remo-Land.

A development advocate and grassroots mobiliser, SAWI brings years of community engagement and policy experience to his ambition.

He holds a professional certification in Project Management in Global Health from the University of Washington, United States, as well as a Master’s degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

He is also affiliated with several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs and the Nigerian Institute of Management, where he is a chartered member, alongside being a Fellow of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative.

Through his Soyoye Akinyode Welfare Initiative (SAWI), the aspirant has led various community-based interventions in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and social welfare. His education-focused programmes have provided scholarships, learning materials support to students across the constituency.

In the health sector, he has facilitated medical outreach programmes and supported initiatives aimed at improving access to healthcare services and promoting community awareness.

SAWI has also implemented youth empowerment schemes, equipping young people with vocational skills, startup support, and capacity-building opportunities to boost entrepreneurship and tackle unemployment. His interventions have further extended to women and vulnerable groups through targeted empowerment programmes designed to improve livelihoods.

Beyond grassroots development, SAWI has garnered legislative exposure, contributing to the drafting of bills and motions in key sectors such as education, healthcare, and social development. His experience in budgeting and project facilitation, according to his supporters, positions him to attract federal projects to the constituency.

He has also revived conversations around the proposed Federal University of Science and Technology, Remo (FUSTRO), as part of his broader vision to drive long-term development through education, innovation, and infrastructure.

Calling for support, SAWI urged residents of Remo Federal Constituency to rally behind what he described as a shared vision of inclusive growth and sustainable development.

He pledged to run a people-focused and issue-based campaign, promising effective representation and impactful service if elected.
