Tinubu Assures Investors as Coca-Cola Reaffirms $1bn Nigeria Investment Plan

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured local and international investors that Nigeria remains open for business, saying his administration is implementing reforms to make the country’s business environment more predictable, competitive and supportive of investment.

Tinubu gave the assurance on Monday in Abuja during the 75th anniversary flagship event of the Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC), held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre. He was represented at the event by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

The President also welcomed the Coca-Cola System’s planned $1 billion investment programme in Nigeria over five years, describing the commitment as a sign of confidence in the country’s economy and long-term prospects.

The investment plan was originally announced by the Coca-Cola System in 2024, with the company stating that the programme would depend on a predictable and enabling business environment. The company has since continued to expand its Nigerian operations, including the commissioning of three new production lines at its Asejire and Challawa plants in 2026.

Tinubu said the government was addressing challenges affecting businesses, including infrastructure, power, regulations, ports, logistics, foreign exchange and taxation, as part of efforts to strengthen domestic production and attract further investment.

The President’s message comes as the Nigerian Bottling Company marks 75 years of operations in the country, with the Coca-Cola System reaffirming its commitment to expanding manufacturing capacity and supporting economic activity across Nigeria.
