U.S., Nigerian Forces Conduct Joint Military Training in Bauchi

United States and Nigerian military personnel have conducted a series of training activities at Operating Location Bauchi as part of ongoing security cooperation between both countries.

 

According to the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), the training covered Combat Lifesaver and Tactical Combat Casualty Care, weapons familiarisation, camouflage, water treatment and testing, explosive ordnance disposal, small-unit tactics and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

 

AFRICOM also reported that about 10 members of the Nigerian Air Force Special Forces Regiment received training on unmanned aircraft systems from U.S. Army personnel. The training included classroom instruction and practical exercises involving the operation of unmanned aircraft systems.

 

The command said the training activities are intended to strengthen military capability, readiness and long-term partner capacity between the United States and Nigeria.

 

The activities form part of broader security cooperation between the two countries and provide opportunities for military personnel to develop skills and improve operational readiness.
