United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has announced that it has been designated as an authorized financial institution through which eligible investors can subscribe to the highly anticipated Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE. This development provides Nigerian and international investors with a vital opportunity to buy shares in one of Africa’s largest industrial ventures, marking a significant milestone for Nigeria’s capital market.

The IPO offers a total of 4.1 billion ordinary shares priced at N525 each. Investors can participate by subscribing for a minimum of 10 shares, which amounts to N5,250, with options to buy additional shares according to the terms specified in the offer documents. The subscription period opened on Monday, September 14, 2026, and will close on October 13, 2026, subject to the conditions outlined in the official offer materials.

UBA has urged its customers and the broader investing public to leverage its approved channels to participate in the IPO. The bank emphasizes the importance of understanding the offer details and conducting thorough due diligence before making investment decisions. Tosin Adewuyi, the Executive Director Designate of UBA Group, expressed pride in the bank’s role in facilitating access to this landmark offering. He stated, “This public offer provides eligible investors with an opportunity to participate in the ownership of a major Nigerian industrial enterprise. We encourage interested investors to obtain and carefully review the offer documents, understand the terms and risks involved, and make informed investment decisions.”

To participate, investors are advised to ensure their personal and banking details, including their BVN, are accurate and up-to-date. UBA’s designated channels for subscription include its self-service platforms, accessible via its official website at https://www.ubagroup.com/nigeria/self-service/. The bank also urges investors to read the IPO prospectus and related documents carefully and seek professional advice where necessary, given that all investments carry inherent risks, including the potential for loss of capital.

Furthermore, UBA cautions investors to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes. The official IPO platform and UBA’s channels are the only authorized avenues for participation. The Dangote Refinery IPO website explicitly warns investors against sharing PINs, passwords, OTPs, or transferring funds to unverified accounts, emphasizing the importance of security and caution in the investment process.

This IPO signals a major step forward for Nigeria’s industrial sector, with the potential to boost economic growth and create opportunities for both local and international investors.
