UNITY AND DEVELOPMENT TAKE CENTRE STAGE AS EGBE DEGBUYI REMO CELEBRATES EIGHT YEARS OF IMPACT

Members of Egbe Degbuyi Remo, traditional rulers, dignitaries, patrons, matrons, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the association’s eighth anniversary in a colourful and memorable ceremony.
The celebration began on a vibrant note as renowned gospel musician, Evangelist Labi Obey, accompanied by his live band, entertained guests with energetic performances. Members of the association joyfully paraded around the venue, dancing and celebrating the milestone anniversary.
Following the musical session, distinguished guests were formally introduced. Among them were the Olofin of Ilishan, HRH Michael Mojeed Olufemi Sonuga; the Elepe of Epe, HRH Oba Adewale Osiberu; and the Chief Imam of Ajegunle, Alhaji Ojasope.
The official programme commenced with the rendition of the National Anthem, Ogun State Anthem, Remo Anthem and Degbuyi Anthem by Miss Olumuyiwa Beauty, followed by the opening prayer led by Chief Imam Ojasope.
Delivering the welcome address, the Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee and Admission and Induction Committee, Dr. Olajuwon Ariyo Abijo, expressed gratitude for the progress recorded by the association over the years. He commended members for their unwavering commitment, unity, and love, while praying for greater cohesion and continued growth within the group.
A major highlight of the event was the grand entrance of His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, whose presence added prestige to the occasion.
The programme also featured the induction of new members into the association, further strengthening and expanding its ranks.
In his goodwill message as the Royal Father of the Day, and Grand Patron, the Akarigbo commended Egbe Degbuyi Remo for promoting unity among its members and making meaningful contributions to society. He encouraged the association to remain steadfast in its developmental efforts and offered royal blessings for continued success and prosperity.
The event also witnessed the investiture of distinguished individuals as patrons and matrons of the association. Those honoured as patrons were Otunba Tunji Lawal Solarin, Mr. Sammy Ogunjimi, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, and Engr. Adewale Fayemi, while Dr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein and Dr. (Mrs.) Oluremi Sakirat Runsewe, were invested as matrons.
Another significant highlight of the celebration was the launch of the association’s permanent site project and fundraising campaign. Guests and supporters generously made donations and pledged support towards the realization of the project and other developmental initiatives of the association.
In recognition of their exceptional service and commitment, several members received Leadership Excellence Awards. Among the recipients were Gbuyi Saheed Oloyede, Gbuyi Dr. Olajuwon Abijo, Gbuyi Engr. Ismail Balogun, Gbuyi Baale Amos Adesanya, Gbuyi Temitope Oyekan, Gbuyi Alaba Ogunsola, Gbuyi Owolabi Ogunjimi, and other deserving members whose contributions have positively impacted the growth and development of the association.
Chairman of the Day, Dr. Adesina Olufemi Adegunle, remarked that he accepted the invitation to chair the occasion without hesitation and expressed delight at being part of the landmark celebration. He commended the association for its achievements and encouraged members to continue pursuing noble causes that would benefit society.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Engr. Ismail Balogun, who expressed appreciation to the royal fathers, guests, patrons, matrons, members, and supporters for their contributions to the success of the anniversary celebration.
The ceremony ended with entertainment, networking, and merriment as members and guests celebrated eight years of unity, service, and community development championed by Egbe Degbuyi Remo.
