Renowned Nigerian filmmaker Yomi Black and his ex-wife, Elizabeth John, recently marked 13 years since their separation. The couple tied the knot in April 2012 and welcomed their son in July 2015 after meeting during the second edition of Nigeria’s pioneering business reality show, ‘The Intern.’
Elizabeth hinted at their split in 2021, referring to herself as a “free woman.” On what would have been their 13th wedding anniversary, Yomi Black took to social media to celebrate what he humorously called an “ex-anniversary.”
In an Instagram story, he shared, “13 years ago! We broke up but still remain cordial. Happy ex-anniversary…lol.” Elizabeth expressed her surprise at the concept of an “ex-anniversary,” admitting she didn’t know such a celebration existed until Yomi reached out to wish her well and publicly posted about it.
“Happy ex-anniversary, Yomi Black. I didn’t know this was a thing till you called to wish it to me and I saw you posted it. God bless you and all your endeavors,” she responded.
