BE TRANSPARENT AND FAIR: OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT TO HAULAGE AGENTS 

Ogun State Government has charged the newly appointed Corporate Haulage Agents to be transparent and fair, as well as ensure they fully comply with the terms of engagement as they contribute their quota to improving the State’s revenue.

Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe gave the charge while addressing the agents at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, admonished them to discharge their duties diligently and adhere to the principle of equity and justice as the haulage fee collection was back up by law and part of its duns are to provide good road and other infrastructure across the state and that information is most important.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Industry, Trade, and Investment, Chief Remi Ogunmefun said the Ministry would relate with Business Membership Organizations like the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), to further aid the relationship between the agents and companies, and urged them to improve on past performances.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola in his remark, advised the agents not to abandon their responsibilities mid-way, adding that the Ministry would be on the lookout for companies deploying different strategies to avoid paying taxes into government coffers.

One of the appointed agents, Mr. Kayode Sijuade, commended the State government for the responsibility assigned to them and promised to discharge their duties as expected.
