Meet Our Man Of The Week, A Renowned Figure In The Medical Field
Ishaq Kunle Salako, a renowned figure in the medical field, has not only led an exemplary life but also served as an inspiration to young generations to come.
Many would never have thought the young boy from Ota could serve as Commissioner and Minister in his country.
Born on July 23 to the family of Alhaji and Alhaja Ibathllahi Lawal Salako of Oke Oyinbo Quarters, Ota, Ogun State. He went on to have his early education a. He went on to have his early education at Ansar-ud-Deen Practicing School and Ansar-ud-Deen Secondary Modern School, before he proceeded to Kwara State College of Technology. He furthered into University of Ibadan where he obtained his MBBS, and later becoming a Professor and Consultant Nephrologist at the University College Hospital. He started working as house physician at various healthcare facilities under the Lagos State Health Management Board during before he fully started his medical practice after his service year.
Ishak Salako transitioned into politics, serving in his field. He served as a Commissioner for Health in Ogun State and Co-ordinator of the Ogun West Stakeholders Forum. During his tenure as the Commissioner for health, he made significant contributions to community health services and programmes. He dedicated most of his tenure to the well-being of public health and community wellbeing.
Professor Salako has made significant contributions to the fields of kidney disease and hypertension. His community volunteer work has garnered him esteemed accolades, including the Alexander Brown Hall of the University of Iowa students’ Brownite of Honor award.
With his exceptional achievements in the medical field, his commitment to community service, and his notable professional recognitions, Ishak Salako was made Minister of State, Environment and Ecological Management.
