Ogun State Government Celebrates World Food Day

Today, Monday October 16, 2023. The Ogun State Government joins the rest of the world to celebrate 2023 World Food Day with the theme, ‘Water is Life, Water is Food : Leave No one behind’.

According to the Statement made by Mr.Samuel Adeogun, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, the state government said the World Food Day would also highlight the need to ensure healthy diets for all.

The statement further indicated that the event is celebrated annually to promote global awareness and action for those who suffer hunger.

The day will feature capacity building, food exhibition, drama and sensitisation of farmers, among others, on the critical role of water for life on earth and water as foundation for food production.

The venue of this year’s event is the open space at Oja Irorun Market in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta
