Sagamu Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Late Mrs. Alhaja Taiwo Abeni Agbegilere

The town of Sagamu came together in a touching final tribute to honor the life and legacy of Mrs. Alhaja Taiwo Abeni Dauda-Ashiru Agbegilere, who passed away at the age of 89.

 

Dignitaries, family members, and friends gathered to pay their respects during the final burial celebration held on January 19th and 20th.

The commemoration began on the morning of Friday, January 19th, as Mrs. Agbegilere’s remains were solemnly transported from the morgue to her residence in Irolu. Later that same evening, the community gathered in Sagamu for a heartfelt Wake keep service, honoring her memory and reflecting on her life’s journey.

On January 20th, Makun High School in Sagamu became the setting for a reception ceremony that brought together Mrs. Agbegilere’s children, grandchildren, sisters, and extended family. The atmosphere was filled with love, support, and remembrance as they celebrated the life of their beloved matriarch.

 

Notable figures, including Ladi Adebutu, Aminishun Oko, Bamofin of Remoland, and Chief of Staff to the Akarigbo, Rahmoni Akani, were among the attendees, further highlighting the impact Mrs. Agbegilere had on her community and the respect she garnered throughout her life.

The town of Sagamu bids farewell to a remarkable woman, Mrs. Alhaja Taiwo Abeni Dauda-Ashiru Agbegilere, whose legacy will continue to inspire and touch the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
