Building on the momentum of day one seminar, the ’84 set of Remo Divisional High School, aptly known as “The Legends,” continued to leave an indelible mark on their Alma Mater by commissioning an Ultra-Modern School Gate. The ceremonial event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, further cementing the profound impact of the ’84 set on their beloved institution.
The commissioning ceremony kicked off with grandeur as Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, Torungbuwa II, LLB, LLM, FCA, FBR, CFR, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland and also the Chairman, Ogun State Council of Obas, honored the occasion by cutting the ribbon at the entrance of the newly constructed school gate. The presence of the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, and the Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya, added a touch of official significance to the proceedings.
Key moments during the commissioning included a poignant keynote address delivered by the 1984 President, Engr Oladipo Adekoya. Adekoya shared reflections on the journey of the ’84 set, the significance of the new school gate, and the enduring commitment to enhancing the educational environment for future generations.
Adding a touch of cultural vibrancy to the ceremony, RDHS students showcased their talents with a captivating dance display, further emphasizing the spirit of unity and celebration that permeated the event.
The culmination of the project was marked by the official handover of the Ultra-Modern School Gate to the school authorities, symbolizing a lasting contribution to the infrastructure of Remo Divisional High School.
Following this impactful commissioning ceremony, the ’84 set reconvened in the evening for a celebratory party at the Conference Hotels, G.R.A, Sagamu. The atmosphere was filled with joy as “The Legends” gathered to express gratitude for the success of the entire anniversary event and to celebrate the gift of life.
As the night unfolded, moments of appreciation to God were interspersed with laughter, shared memories, and a palpable sense of camaraderie that has defined the ’84 set over the past 40 years. The Conference Hotels witnessed the joyous conclusion of a remarkable anniversary celebration, leaving an enduring legacy of unity, generosity, and dedication to their Alma Mater.
