Ogun FRSC Boss Warns Motorists On Speed Violation 

 

The Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Anthony Uga, on Thursday made a stern warning to motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway against speed violation stressing that it is the major cause of crashes on the road.

 

Uga made this statement while reacting to an accident that claimed five lives and left four people injured along the Fidiwo section of the expressway.

 

He also encouraged motorists not to turn the expressway into a race course because of the good condition of the road.

 

Newsmen reported that five people died while four others were injured in an accident that occurred on Thursday around the Fidiwo Bridge, near Ogunmakin along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

 

The accident which occurred at about 2:48 pm was said to have involved a red Prome bus with number plate MUS191HA and a golden colour Toyota Camry car with registration AKD754BG.

 

A statement released by the spokesperson for the Ogun FRSC, Florence Okpe, revealed that the accident was caused by wrongful overtaking, excessive speed, and tyre bust.

 

The injured persons were said to have been taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere Remo for medical treatment, while the corpses were deposited at the FOS Morgue, Ipara Remo.
