Zakat and Sadakat Foundation Remo Zone Distributes Over N10 Million in Cash and Materials to Beneficiaries in Sagamu
The Zakat and Sadakat Foundation, Remo Zone, a non-governmental organization, held its 15th annual Zakat Distribution Ceremony in Sagamu on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at NUT Hall, along Oba Erinwole Road, Makun Sagamu. The event featured lectures, donations of food items, cash for startups, and materials to empower businesses and trade.
Over N10 million was given in cash and materials to beneficiaries. One of the beneficiaries, a blind Christian, received materials worth N300,000 for his insecticide business. More than 20 beneficiaries received N20,000 each in cash. Other beneficiaries received deep freezers, generators, washing machines, bags of charcoal, school chairs, books, writing materials, grinding machines, and more.
The event was attended by the CEO and Executive Director of the ZSF Foundation, Alhaji Prince Sulaiman Olagunju, represented by the Director of Field Monitoring and Evaluation. The chairman of the occasion was Engineer Musbaudeen Lawal, Director of Transatlantic International School Sagamu. Special guests included Alhaji Nurein Dotun Sokumbi, CEO of Amber Plastics Limited, and Fadheelatul Sheik Junaid Muhammad Awwal, the Grand Chief Imam of Remo land and Deputy Chief Imam.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Alhaja Bakare, Chief Imam of Sabo; the Chief Imam of Ikenne; the Chief Imam of Correctional Centre Sagamu; and Chief Imams from across Remo land and beyond. The Alasela Adeen of Remo land was also present. The event lecture was delivered by Fadheelatul Sheik Mikial Adeola Adesanya, the Eketa Adeen of Remo land.
This year’s edition of the Zakat Distribution Ceremony was themed “Zakat System, Wealth Acquisition, and Poverty Alleviation: A Call to Duty.”
