Ogun State Police Command Arrests 28-Year-Old Man for Alleged Defilement

In the Sagamu area of Ogun State, a 28-year-old man, Samuel Ani, was apprehended on Wednesday at approximately 2 pm by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.

Omolola Odutola, police spokesperson in Ogun State, confirmed that the victim’s father, identified only as Paul, reported the incident to the authorities, leading to Ani’s prompt arrest. Upon interrogation, Ani confessed to the crime.

“The father reported the suspect’s actions against his daughter, which led to the arrest,” Odutola stated. “The suspect allegedly defiled the minor and is also accused of impregnating her.

We have detained the 28-year-old suspect, and the matter will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department once the preliminary investigation is completed.”

Odutola further disclosed that the minor has undergone medical examination at a local hospital. “The survivor has been taken to the hospital for medical examination,” she added.
