Abandoned Newborn Baby Found in Front of Ogun Clinic
A newborn baby was allegedly abandoned by its mother in front of a clinic in Ogun State, Nigeria. The incident took place at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Friday in Oru Ijebu, Ijebu North Local Government Area.
According to the statement given today, Monday by Omolola Odutola, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police, the baby was discovered by the owner of Blessed Clinic. The clinic owner immediately provided urgent medical care to the few-days-old child before contacting the Oru Police Division.
The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are currently searching for the mother. Odutola stated that the medical doctor in charge of the hospital alerted the police division about the child, and the baby is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
The Ogun State Police Command is urging anyone with information about the mother’s identity or whereabouts to come forward. The police are also working to ensure the baby’s safety and well-being.
