Ogun State Police Command Guarantees Safety and Security for Yuletide Season

The Ogun State Police Command has taken proactive measures to ensure a peaceful and safe yuletide season for residents and visitors. According to Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo, the command has deployed personnel and intelligence officers to maintain law and order during and after the season.

As Commissioner Ogunlowo stated, “the season heralds increased social interactions, busy hours, and the closing of businesses, which can attract criminal behavior.” However, he reiterated that the police command has a zero-tolerance policy towards criminal activity, and has assigned officers strategically throughout the state to ensure the safety of law-abiding citizens.

Commissioner Ogunlowo explained that the command has mobilized operatives who are well-versed in human rights, civility, and professionalism to detect and prevent crime while protecting lives and property. He noted that the police are also enhancing checkpoints and patrols across the state, with officers in uniform and plainclothes present to deter crime and reassure the public.

As he pointed out, high-risk areas that have witnessed threats in the past will be monitored by armored patrols, and specialized units such as SWAT and Anti-Kidnapping will conduct regular patrols around educational institutions. Key locations such as places of worship, parks, and government buildings will benefit from significant police presence.

Commissioner Ogunlowo urged members of the public to cooperate with security agents and respect the personnel on duty, who are working hard to keep everyone safe. He emphasized that the command has established a functional control room with toll-free emergency lines for better responsiveness and real-time communication.
