Hearn outlines Joshua’s plans for 2026
Promoter Eddie Hearn has hinted at major plans for Anthony Joshua in 2026 after a recent meeting with Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh in Riyadh.
Hearn, currently occupied with a series of Matchroom Boxing events, said he made a spontaneous trip to Riyadh following a meeting with Joshua in Dubai.
“We’re looking at extending our partnership with Matchroom and discussing several potential fights — a lot of conversations about AJ, of course,” Hearn told The Stomping Ground.
“I won’t reveal too much because I don’t want to jinx anything, but there are big plans ahead for Anthony Joshua.”
“We’re ready,” Hearn said. “It was a great meeting with AJ in Dubai, and when you sit down with His Excellency, things move fast. I actually had to cancel my flight because once he gets into that business mode, he’s all about making things happen immediately.”
Anthony Joshua is reportedly being lined up for a comeback fight in Nigeria early next year, following his loss to Daniel Dubois in their world heavyweight title clash at Wembley Stadium last September.
Congolese heavyweight Martin Bakole has expressed interest in taking on the British-Nigerian star, calling the potential bout “The Rumble in the Jungle II.”
