The Friends of Ronzls Foundation delivered a momentous end-of-year celebration on Thursday, December 11, at the historic Akarigbo Palace in Sagamu, attracting over 74 primary schools and a multitude of community stakeholders from across Remoland. The event, which commenced promptly at 11:15 a.m., was a vibrant display of charity, community spirit, and dedication to children’s welfare.

Royal Patronage and Prestige

The occasion was graced by the illustrious royal patron, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, Torungbuwa II, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, who served as the Royal Father of the Day. His Majesty’s presence underscored the event’s significance, and in his speech, he reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to initiatives that promote children’s development and community progress.

Additionally, His Royal Highness Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, the Radanuwa of Idado, Sagamu, and the host of the event, lent his royal support, emphasizing the importance of educational and social programs for the youth.

Opening Ceremonies and Participants

The event opened with a warm welcome from Team leader of the foundation, Mr. Babatunde Osidele, who acknowledged the participating schools, teachers, dignitaries, charity organizations, and community groups. An opening prayer was led by Rev. Emmanuel Adedawa, setting a solemn yet celebratory tone. The formal proceedings kicked off with the arrival of HRM Oba Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, signaling the official start of the festivities.

Participating Schools and Dignitaries

Schools represented included Local Primary School Sagamu, Wesley Primary School Sotunbo, St. Paul’s School 2 Ijokun Sagamu, ALC Ilisan New Koregun, Imoro Ogujo Community Primary School, AUD Primary School Ikenne, Odelemo AUD Nursery and Primary School, African Church Primary School Apelogun Sagamu, Local Government Primary School Ipara Remo, Otunba Gbenga Daniel School Ewoluwo, among many others from across Remoland.

Distinguished dignitaries and charity organizations also participated, including representatives from Saint Pius Charity Home and Shoyila Foundation, among others.

Foundation’s Achievements in 2025

In her keynote address, Mrs. Oladapo Ilori Sulaiman, Founder of the Friends of Ronzls Foundation, highlighted the foundation’s impactful initiatives over the year, focusing on education and food security.

February Highlights:

– Launched five major projects, including free medical outreach in collaboration with the Idado community, benefiting over 300 individuals with health checks, medications, and eyeglasses.

– Conducted a nationwide reading sensitization program, visiting 60 primary schools to foster early literacy.

– Celebrated World Book Day with a dedicated event to promote reading habits among children.

– Organized free medical outreach in Ilorin, serving over 500 individuals.

– Distributed 160 food bags in quarterly food bank initiatives.

March:

– Ramadan food program served over 300 individuals daily on Sagamu’s Akarigbo Street and in Ilorin over three days.

May:

– Conducted uniform mending projects across 15 primary schools.

– Sponsored the Idado Youth Football Tournament in collaboration with royal authorities.

– Held preliminary rounds for quiz and spelling bee competitions in 70 primary schools across Sagamu, Ikenne, and Remo North.

– Hosted a Children’s Day celebration involving five primary schools.

– Partnered with “Life in Red” for genotype awareness campaigns in secondary schools.

– Launched the first Ilorin edition of the quiz and spelling bee with five participating schools.

– Distributed 150 food bags through the quarterly food bank.

June:

– Hosted the grand finale of the 5th Annual Quiz and Spelling Bee, with Miss Veronica Matthew of African Church Primary School crowned champion.

– Collaborated with Sagamu Youth Association to empower girls, donating over 6,000 sanitary pads to 16 secondary schools over three days.

August:

– Organized free holiday coaching classes across Sagamu and Ilorin, benefiting over 300 children.

September:

– Donated over 3,800 pairs of school sandals to 60 schools in Sagamu and Remo, and five in Ilorin through the annual sandals donation project.

October:

– Partnered with Sagamu Youth Association for the first Sagamu Kids Festival during Sagamu Day, attracting over 1,500 children, with 400 receiving food and gift packs.

November:

– Continued food bank distributions in Ilorin and hosted the inaugural end-of-year children’s party for five schools.
