Odulate Debunks Claims Ogun Has No Ambulances After Sagamu Accident
The Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has described as evil, insensitive and unpatriotic claims suggesting that Ogun State has no functional ambulance services following the recent road accident involving world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, and his friends.
Odulate said such narratives were unfounded and misleading, stressing that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration had procured and deployed ambulances across all 20 local government areas of the state.
In a statement, the council chairman released photographs as evidence of the ambulances in operation, countering reports circulated by what he described as “interlopers” seeking to misinform the public.
He explained that the involvement of Lagos State ambulances during the rescue operation was based solely on proximity and existing collaboration between Lagos and Ogun states, particularly along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway and adjoining border communities.
According to him, both states have, over the years, worked closely to ensure swift emergency response along the busy corridor.
Odulate expressed sympathy with the victims of the accident, describing the incident as heartbreaking, and commended residents and passersby who rendered assistance before the arrival of emergency agencies.
He said the selfless actions of citizens at the scene reflected compassion, patriotism and shared humanity, irrespective of race, tribe, gender or religion.
The council chairman reaffirmed that Ogun State remains equipped and responsive in handling emergencies, urging the public to disregard what he termed false and malicious claims surrounding the incident.
