Delta Security Agencies Reinforce Collaboration to Boost Statewide Safety
The Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police Force have underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration and synergy in their operations across Delta State.
This was the focus of a courtesy visit by Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Aina Adesola, to Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, Commander of the 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force South South, Operation Delta Safe, in Asaba on Tuesday.
A statement signed by Captain Iliyasu Bawa Rijau, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 63 Brigade, and made available to journalists in Warri on Wednesday, highlighted the purpose of the visit.
The statement explained that the visit aimed to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and operational synergy between the 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force South South and the Delta State Police Command, with the goal of improving effective policing and overall security in the state.
During the meeting, CP Aina Adesola emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation, prompt intelligence sharing, and joint operational strategies among security agencies. She specifically pointed out the need to address security issues in Delta’s riverine and coastal areas.
In response, Brigadier General Shonibare warmly welcomed the police commissioner and his team, reaffirming the Brigade’s commitment to working closely with the police and other security partners.
Shonibare assured CP Aina Adesola of the Brigade’s full support in crime prevention, maintaining public order, and safeguarding lives and property across Delta State. He emphasized that inter-agency cooperation is vital for effective security management and pledged to maintain continuous engagement to bolster the state’s security framework.
Previously, in October 2025, it was reported online that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori launched the Delta State Security Trust Fund, reaffirming the administration’s dedication to building a safer, more prosperous Delta through public-private partnerships in security efforts.
