Controversial Nigerian Singer Speed Darlington Reveals He Left the US with Only Criminal Records and Built His Wealth in Nigeria

News: Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has openly stated that his 23 years in the United States resulted only in criminal records, with no financial gains. In a recent online video, Darlington compared his experiences in Nigeria and the US, explaining that he left America with nothing and built his mansion using earnings from Nigeria.

He shared that the US negatively affected his self-confidence as a black man, saying, “America did not favor me. I have access to the USA but I don’t want to be there all the time. The only thing I have is criminal records, arrest, arrest, arrest, that’s all I got from the USA.”

Darlington added that he now prefers to visit America occasionally to see his family but finds the society there unfit for his mental and physical well-being. “In America, my self-confidence is in the gutter. I can’t even talk to girls; I feel lonely and insecure. It’s tiring, and I often worry about my accent or whether I’m adequate.”

He emphasized the racial dynamics in America, stating, “A black man is seen as nothing, and you have to overprove yourself to earn respect. That’s not how I want to live my life.” In contrast, he feels valued in Nigeria, where everyone shares similar skin tones.

Darlington also revealed that his wealth, including his mansion with a swimming pool, was funded by earnings in Nigeria. He recounted a fight with Portable that helped him complete his mansion’s decking, clarifying that it happened in Lagos, not Las Vegas. He concluded by saying, “I love having access to the US whenever I want, but I did not leave America with money. It’s better to be free in a forest than caged in the center of everything.”
