Sagamu LG, Ogun PHC Board Launch Measles–Rubella Vaccination Campaign

The Sagamu Local Government, in collaboration with the Ogun State Primary Health Care Board, has announced the commencement of a Measles–Rubella Vaccination Campaign across the local government area.

The exercise is scheduled to run from January 27 to February 5, 2026, targeting children under routine immunisation as well as specific age groups. According to details released, routine immunisation will cover children aged 0–23 months, while the Measles–Rubella vaccine will be administered to children aged 9 months to 14 years. The campaign also includes the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine for girls aged 9 years.

Vaccination activities will take place across all Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs), schools, markets, mosques, churches, and other designated outreach locations within Sagamu Local Government Area to ensure wide coverage.

Speaking on the campaign, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, described the exercise as a key public health intervention aimed at protecting children from vaccine-preventable diseases and strengthening community health.

Residents have been advised that the vaccines to be administered during the campaign are safe and effective, and parents and guardians are encouraged to present eligible children at the nearest vaccination point during the exercise period.
