Sagamu APC Extends Warm Welcome to Hon. Omoba Damilare Bello(Dre) Amid Notable Political Shift
The Ward 4 APC Party Secretariat in Sabo, Sagamu, Ogun State, came alive with music, dance, and celebration as Hon. Damilare Bello, popularly known as Drey, officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Party members and supporters gathered in large numbers to welcome him into the APC fold, with the women’s wing leading the welcome through songs, dances, and cheerful felicitations.
The event began with an opening prayer by Honorable Alhaji Adesanya, setting the tone for the occasion, while the Master of Ceremony, Hon. Kamal, recognized key party dignitaries present.
In his remarks, the Ward Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Taiwo, expressed his enthusiasm over Hon. Damilare Bello’s decision to join the APC, noting that his entry would further strengthen the party at the grassroots. He also highlighted Hon. Bello’s willingness to connect with members and contribute to the party’s growth.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of the APC party flag to Hon. Damilare Bello by the Ward Chairman, symbolizing his official acceptance into the party. The party’s Woman Leader was also introduced to him as part of efforts to foster unity within the party structure.
An executive member of the party urged supporters to begin early preparations for upcoming elections, emphasizing the importance of obtaining Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to ensure active participation in the electoral process.
In his address, Hon. Damilare Bello reassured party members of his commitment to the APC and its objectives, while offering prayers for the party’s continued success. He also greeted party leaders, dignitaries, and supporters present at the event.
The celebration continued as Bello joined members on the dance floor, sharing in the excitement of the moment. In a gesture of support, he donated the sum of ₦300,000 to party members.
The event concluded on a festive note, marked by music, dancing, and renewed optimism among party faithful, as members described the defection as a significant boost to the APC in Sagamu.
