Sagamu LG Backs Adeola YAYI, Commends Governor Abiodun’s Transition Plan

The Sagamu Local Government has declared its support for the emergence of senator Olamilekan Adeola YAYI as the governorship flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State. The endorsement followed the party’s Special Caucus meeting, where Governor Dapo Abiodun presented Adeola as the consensus candidate ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
In a statement issued on behalf of the local government, the Executive Chairman, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, described the development as a reflection of unity within the APC and a step toward ensuring electoral success.
Odulate also commended Governor Abiodun for his commitment to a peaceful and rancour-free political transition, noting that the process leading to the emergence of a consensus candidate aligns with the Governor’s assurances to the people of the state.
He stated that the leadership and people of Sagamu Local Government had remained focused on governance while awaiting the direction of the party, adding that the emergence of Adeola has now provided clarity and renewed momentum ahead of the polls. The chairman congratulated Adeola on his emergence, expressing confidence that his candidacy would strengthen the vision of sustainable growth and development in Ogun State.
He added that the executive council, legislative arm, and residents of Sagamu Local Government are united in their support for the APC flag bearer as preparations intensify for the election.
