Nollywood Actress Atinuke Kareem Dies After Battle With Breast Cancer

Nollywood actress Atinuke Remilekun Kareem has died after battling breast cancer.

Her death was announced on Tuesday by Owolabi Ajasa, Executive Governor of the Ogun State chapter of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), in a statement shared on Instagram.

According to the statement, signed by the association’s Public Relations Officer, Femi Solaja, TAMPAN expressed appreciation to colleagues, fans and well-wishers who provided financial assistance, prayers and encouragement during Kareem’s treatment.

Before her death, Kareem had publicly appealed for assistance, revealing that she had been battling breast cancer for some time and that the cost of treatment had placed a financial burden on her family. She also disclosed that TAMPAN had supported her but that further assistance was needed.

The association expressed sadness over her death, describing it as a painful loss to her family, colleagues and the entertainment community.
