Ogun Deploys TRACE to Ease Kara Bridge Traffic Gridlock

The Ogun State Government has deployed personnel of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) to help manage severe traffic congestion around Kara Bridge and adjoining sections of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, in a statement on Wednesday, said the deployment was aimed at strengthening traffic coordination and assisting motorists affected by the prolonged gridlock. He said TRACE operatives were working with relevant security, emergency and traffic management agencies to improve movement and clear obstructions.

The congestion has been worsened by ongoing rehabilitation works on the Kara Bridge and recent road incidents along the corridor. TRACE also reported heavy traffic around the Mowe-Ibafo axis, with its personnel deployed at strategic points to prevent motorists from driving against traffic and creating further obstruction.

Motorists have been advised to exercise caution, obey traffic directions and avoid creating additional lanes or driving against traffic, as such actions could further worsen the situation and hinder emergency operations.

The state government said traffic conditions would continue to be monitored, while necessary personnel and resources would remain deployed to ease movement and restore normal traffic flow.
