Adeleke Camp Backs Tinubu Re-election Bid with 1.5 Million-Vote Target.

The Imole Campaign Council says it will mobilise 1.5 million votes in Osun State for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, following Governor Ademola Adeleke’s appointment as the state coordinator of Tinubu’s campaign council.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the group’s Director General, Senator Olalere Oyewumi, welcomed Adeleke’s inclusion in the revised All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council list. He described the appointment as recognition of the governor’s ability to secure support for Tinubu in Osun.
“We assure the President that his confidence in the ability of Governor Adeleke to deliver Osun in the Presidential election will not be misplaced,” Oyewumi said. He added that the council would work towards the 1.5 million-vote target, recalling that Adeleke had previously made a similar pledge.
The campaign council said the Accord Party’s structure in Osun would support the effort. It also urged residents to back Adeleke, saying he was continuing to fulfil his campaign promises. “A vote for President Tinubu is a support for Governor Adeleke,” the statement said.
Adeleke’s appointment was announced as part of a revised list of members of the presidential campaign council. Other figures named include Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Adeleke is a member of the Accord Party, while Tinubu belongs to the APC. The pledge therefore signals a proposed cross-party mobilisation effort in Osun ahead of the 2027 election. The statement did not provide details of how the council intends to reach its target or explain how the votes would be counted.
Adeleke won the Osun governorship election after polling 511,067 votes, according to the results announced by the state returning officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole. The APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, received 444,815 votes.
The Imole Campaign Council’s pledge comes as political groups and coalitions begin positioning themselves ahead of the next presidential contest. Oyewumi said the council would work with the governor to deliver the promised support, while calling on Osun residents to trust Adeleke’s leadership.
The 1.5 million figure is the council’s stated target; the statement did not indicate whether it was based on a formal voter mobilisation plan or provide further details about the campaign’s organisation.
