ADNOC Confirms Attack on Vessel in Strait of Hormuz

The United Arab Emirates’ state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has confirmed that one of its vessels came under attack while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, August 14.

According to ADNOC, no injuries were reported and the situation has been brought under control. The company did not provide further details on the nature of the attack or identify those responsible in its statement.

The incident comes amid heightened security concerns and disruptions to commercial shipping through the strategic waterway. Recent reports have documented several attacks involving vessels linked to ADNOC, although responsibility for individual incidents should be attributed to the parties making the claims unless independently confirmed.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a major international energy shipping route, making attacks on commercial vessels a significant concern for maritime safety and global energy security.
