Nollywood actress Bunmi Nelson has expressed regret over failing to recognise Funke Akindele’s potential when the actress was still building her career in the Nigerian film industry.

Nelson recalled an earlier encounter with Akindele and admitted that she did not realise at the time how successful her colleague would eventually become.

“If I knew Funke would go far like this, I would have held her tight,” Nelson said.

According to Nelson, Akindele had approached her at an earlier stage of their careers, but she did not fully appreciate the opportunity or Akindele’s potential at the time.
