Carter Efe, Speed Darlington Clash Ahead of October 1 Boxing Bout

The official press conference for the Chaos in the Ring Independence Day boxing event became heated on Tuesday as content creator Carter Efe and rapper Speed Darlington exchanged words ahead of their scheduled celebrity boxing bout on October 1.
The confrontation occurred during the pre-fight event in Lagos, with security personnel intervening as tensions rose between the two entertainers. Reports from the event also indicated that other fighters on the card were involved in heated exchanges during their respective face-offs.
Efe challenged Speed Darlington over his decision to enter the ring against him after Efe defeated singer Habeeb “Portable” Badmus by unanimous decision in May. Speed Darlington, who previously lost to Portable, responded with his own warnings ahead of Thursday’s contest. Efe’s victory over Portable was officially recorded as a unanimous decision, with the judges scoring the bout 30–27 in his favour.
The press conference also featured a tense face-off between reality TV star Phyna and actress Nkechi Blessing, who are scheduled to meet in another celebrity boxing bout on the same card. Their confrontation reportedly became physical before people around them intervened.
The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 1, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, as part of Nigeria’s Independence Day celebrations. The card includes both professional and celebrity boxing contests.
The heated exchanges at the press conference have added further attention to Thursday’s event, when Efe and Speed Darlington are expected to settle their rivalry inside the ring.
