Civil Defence Warns Applicants of Disqualification for Non-Compliance with Dress Code.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has issued a clarification regarding the dress code for candidates participating in the upcoming oral interview of its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise. The interview is scheduled to commence on September 7, 2026, and the board emphasized the importance of adhering strictly to the specified attire guidelines.

In a statement released on Thursday by the Board’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Okeh Juliet, the clarification was issued in response to numerous inquiries from applicants about acceptable clothing for the interview. The Board explained that this new information supersedes previous guidance and aims to ensure uniformity and professionalism among candidates.

According to the statement, the approved dress code for all candidates includes a white T-shirt, which can be either short or long-sleeved, with the long-sleeve option being optional for female candidates. Additionally, candidates are required to wear white shorts or white long trousers, with the latter also being optional for women. Footwear should be white sneakers paired with white socks. Female candidates are allowed to wear headscarves if they wish, but this remains optional.

The Board warned that failure to comply with the dress code would result in disqualification, with candidates denied access to the interview venue. This strict enforcement underscores the importance placed on professionalism and uniformity during the recruitment process.

The ongoing recruitment exercise is the final stage for applicants seeking employment into Nigeria’s security agencies, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Immigration Service. The exercise followed the shortlisting of candidates, which was done in phases based on their qualifications. Those who applied under the Graduate category checked their status from August 31 to September 2, 2026, while applicants with NCE, OND, and SSCE qualifications checked from September 7 to 9.

Candidates are advised to select the nearest available venue, date, and time for their interview, print their invitation letters, and arrive prepared. The Board also reiterated that the entire recruitment process is free of charge and warned applicants against paying anyone for employment opportunities, emphasizing the importance of integrity and transparency.
