Diya Commends Stakeholders as Odogbolu APC Launches Campaign Committees

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odogbolu Local Government Area, Ogun State, has raised ₦75 million to support its campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The fundraising took place during the inauguration of campaign committees for the Odogbolu State Constituency at Odogbolu Town Hall. Party leaders, stakeholders, committee members and political dignitaries attended the event.

Odogbolu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Dr. Diya, praised party members for their turnout, loyalty and contributions. He expressed confidence that the APC would perform strongly in 2027, citing its candidates: governorship candidate Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, known as Yayi; deputy governorship candidate Mrs Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun; Ogun East senatorial candidate Prince Dapo Abiodun; House of Representatives candidate Hon. Rasak Daddah; and Odogbolu State Constituency candidate Hon. Lukman Adeleye.

Diya described the newly inaugurated committees as an experienced team of politicians and grassroots mobilisers. Recalling his work during the 2021 elections, he said he visited all 168 polling units in the local government. He also commended Adeleye for undertaking grassroots engagements ahead of the campaign period.

The chairman pledged that campaign materials, palliatives and logistical support would be provided to assist mobilisation. Campaign Committee Chairman Hon. Femi Ogunbanwo described the inauguration as a step towards a united electoral effort and said no key party member would be excluded. He also promised a minibus—or, at minimum, a motorcycle—to the ward recording the highest percentage margin of victory among Odogbolu’s 15 wards.

Adegunwa-Balogun urged members to promote fairness, justice and unity, and called on women and other stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilisation. She pledged ₦20 million to the campaign council.

Other announced pledges included ₦5 million from Adeleye and ₦3 million from Diya and his cabinet. Barr. Dapo Oduwole, Otunba Adesanya Olumide, Otunba Wale Osinnubi and Otunba Odunowo each pledged ₦2 million. Other stakeholders pledged ₦1 million apiece, while the Leader of the House and councillors collectively pledged ₦1.5 million. Several party figures also pledged ₦500,000 each.

Adeleye said the APC was ready for the elections and predicted a decisive victory. He thanked party leaders for their support and for endorsing his candidacy. Local Government APC Chairman Akogun Muyiwa Idowu urged ward chairmen to coordinate closely with stakeholders. State Legal Adviser Barr. Yomi Siwoniku administered the oath to committee directors, who later received engagement letters.

Those attending included former Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Remmy Hazzan, Rt. Hon. Wasiu Adeniji, Hon. Shuaib Ladejobi and other party leaders.

The announcement was contained in a statement by Comrade Otudero Seyi Oluwaseun, Chief Press Secretary to the local government chairman.
