Falconets Face England in U-20 World Cup Round of 16
Nigeria’s Falconets have advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after recording a commanding 10-1 victory over New Caledonia in their final Group F match on Sunday.
Ramotalahi Kareem was among Nigeria’s standout performers, scoring a hat-trick and earning the Player of the Match award. Onajite Winner David also scored three goals, while Rebecca Adegbemile and Tosin Rafiu were among the other Nigerian scorers. New Caledonia scored a late consolation goal through Joceline Kourevi.
The emphatic victory lifted Nigeria to four points from three matches, securing second place in Group F behind Spain. The Falconets had earlier lost 2-0 to Spain and drawn 0-0 with China.
Speaking after the match, Kareem said the team was ready for the next challenge and would prepare fully for a strong England side in the knockout stage.
Nigeria will now face England in the Round of 16 as the Falconets continue their pursuit of a first U-20 Women’s World Cup title.
