INSTALLATION CEREMONY HOLDS FOR CHIEF MRS. YORI OTUYELA KIKELOMO AS YEYE OBAYORI OF EGBE OBAYORI OBINRIN AKILE IJEBU

Family members, friends, members of Egbe Obayori Obinrin Akile Ijebu, and well-wishers gathered on Monday, June 1, 2026, for the installation ceremony of Chief Mrs. Yori Otuyela Kikelomo as the Yeye Obayori of the association.
The prestigious event took place at Rolak Hotel & Suites, beside Imowo Community Primary School, Imowo, and commenced at exactly 2:00 p.m.
The ceremony began with a colourful dance procession by members of Egbe Obayori Obinrin Akile Ijebu, setting a festive atmosphere for the occasion as guests arrived to celebrate the honoured title holder.
As part of the programme, all members of the association were called out for recognition and appreciation. The exercise highlighted the unity, dedication, and contributions of members towards the growth and success of Egbe Obayori Obinrin Akile Ijebu. The recognition segment was warmly received by attendees, who applauded the efforts of the women in advancing the objectives of the group.
Following the recognition of members, the Olori Egbe delivered an address in which she spoke extensively about the association, its vision, achievements, and commitment to promoting the welfare, culture, and development of women within the Ijebu community. She also encouraged members to remain united, dedicated, and supportive of the association’s programmes and initiatives.
One of the major highlights of the event was the official recognition and installation of Chief Mrs. Yori Otuyela Kikelomo as Yeye Obayori of Egbe Obayori Obinrin Akile Ijebu. During the installation rites, she was presented with the symbols of her office, including the Yeye Obayori crown, traditional beads adorning her neck and wrists, and other regalia signifying her new status within the association.
Special prayers were offered for Chief Mrs. Yori Otuyela Kikelomo, with members of the association and guests praying for divine wisdom, strength, good health, and a successful tenure in her new role as Yeye Obayori.
The Olori Egbe also presented her with an award signifying her installation and recognition as Yeye Obayori of Egbe Obayori Obinrin Akile Ijebu. The presentation was greeted with applause and cheers from members and guests who celebrated the historic moment.
The ceremony also featured the installation of her friend, Chief (Mrs.) Paramole Folashayo, who was honoured with the title of Yeye Tayese of Egbe Obayori Obinrin Akile Ijebu. The dual installation added colour and significance to the occasion as members celebrated the emergence of two distinguished women into important leadership positions within the association.
The ceremony was further enriched with the rendition of traditional Ewi performances, which entertained guests while highlighting Yoruba cultural heritage and values. The poetic recitations drew admiration from attendees and added a unique cultural touch to the installation programme.
