ISIAKA OLANIYI ASIRU INSTALLED AS OTUNBA GBOBANIYI OF IBIDO, HOSTS MASOYINBO PROGRAMME IN SAGAMU

‎It was a day of honour, culture, and intellectual engagement on Saturday, May 30, 2026, as Alhaji Isiaka Olaniyi Asiru (Agbegilere 10) and his wife was officially installed as the Otunba and Yeye Otunba Gbobaniyi of Ibido, Sagamu, before later hosting the much-anticipated Masoyinbo Programme at the Lord Bashy Event Centre, Sagamu.

‎The installation ceremony took place at the Ibido Palace and commenced at exactly 12:00 p.m., attracting traditional rulers, family members, dignitaries, associates, and well-wishers from within and outside Ogun State. The event began with dance processions led by Alhaji Isiaka Olaniyi Asiru, his wife, family members, and other well-wishers who joined in celebrating the special occasion in a joyful and lively atmosphere.

‎The ceremony was presided over by His Royal Highness, Oba Kolawole Adeshina Adeyemi, the Negbuwa of Ibido Land, who formally conferred the prestigious title on the respected community leader. Also in attendance were prominent monarchs, including Oba Evangelist Olademaji Allison (Magbeuku I), the Alagura of Agura, and Oba Ogunsola Muyideen Oluseyi Soile, alongside several other royal fathers and distinguished guests.

‎Traditional rites and goodwill messages formed part of the ceremony, reflecting the rich heritage and customs of Ibido. Members of the Olowogbowore and Agbegilere families, community leaders, friends, and associates gathered to celebrate the honour bestowed on Alhaji Asiru, whose contributions to community development, philanthropy, and family unity were widely acknowledged.

‎Many speakers described the new Otunba Gbobaniyi as a committed leader and respected personality whose dedication to humanity and community service earned him the recognition.

‎Following the palace installation, attention shifted to the Lord Bashy Event Centre, Hospital Road, Sagamu, where the Masoyinbo Programme commenced at 4:00 p.m.

‎The Masoyinbo Programme, organised by Knowledge Edge Legacy Academy Ltd., commenced with an opening prayer led by Otunba Solomon, setting a reflective tone for the event. The programme was ably anchored by Omoba Abiola Ogundeko, who guided participants through the various segments of the gathering.

‎A major highlight of the event was the presentation by renowned media entrepreneur and producer of the Yoruba Show, Mr. Olalekan Fabilola. In his session, he emphasized the importance of documenting personal experiences, preserving family histories, publishing valuable knowledge, and creating enduring legacies for future generations. Participants were encouraged to transform their stories, expertise, and life experiences into meaningful records that could continue to inspire others long after their lifetime.

‎The programme also featured contributions from the co-founders of Knowledge Edge Legacy Academy Ltd., Otunba Isiaka Olaniyi Asiru and Taofeek Adesegun Oduwaye, who reiterated the need for individuals, families, and organisations to intentionally preserve their histories, experiences, and achievements through proper documentation and publication.

‎The combination of the colourful installation ceremony at the Ibido Palace and the thought-provoking Masoyinbo Programme later in the day made the occasion a memorable one. Guests who attended both events described the experience as a fitting celebration of culture, leadership, knowledge, and legacy, marking a significant milestone in the life of Otunba Isiaka Olaniyi Asiru.
