Latogun, New Market, Imowo/Ilupeju Among Communities Benefiting from Transformer Donation.

Omooba Abimbola Onabanjo has donated electricity transformers to five communities in Ijebuland, in a move aimed at improving power supply and supporting local development.

The beneficiary communities are Latogun, New Market, Imowo/Ilupeju, Ogbogbo and Erigo. The donation is expected to strengthen electricity distribution in the areas and provide relief to residents and businesses affected by unreliable power.

A stable electricity supply is important to households, traders and small businesses, many of which rely on power for daily operations. Improved access can also support community safety and enhance residents’ quality of life.

The contribution highlights the role individuals and private organisations can play in addressing local infrastructure needs. While government remains responsible for providing essential services, community-focused initiatives can complement public efforts and help meet pressing needs.

Residents and business owners in the five communities are expected to benefit from the new equipment. The transformers could help improve local distribution capacity, although the quality of the resulting service will also depend on installation, maintenance and the wider electricity network.

Onabanjo’s donation has been welcomed as a practical contribution to grassroots development in Ijebuland. It reflects the value of investing in infrastructure that directly affects people’s homes, livelihoods and businesses.

As communities continue to seek reliable electricity and other essential services, partnerships between government, private contributors and residents can help advance development. The transformer donation is one such intervention, with the potential to support daily life and economic activity across Latogun, New Market, Imowo/Ilupeju, Ogbogbo and Erigo.
