Osimhen Drops to Fifth in Africa’s Most Valuable Footballers Ranking
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has dropped to fifth among Africa’s most valuable footballers, with a current market value of €75 million, according to the latest Transfermarkt figures reported on Wednesday.
Osimhen is ranked behind Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, valued at €90 million, while Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi and Manchester City winger Antoine Semenyo are each valued at €80 million. Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi is also listed at €80 million. Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo is level with Osimhen at €75 million.
The ranking represents a significant change from Osimhen’s previous position among Africa’s most valuable players. Transfermarkt currently values the Galatasaray forward at €75 million, a figure that has remained below his previous career-high valuation. Transfermarkt also lists Osimhen at €75 million in its current player records.
Despite the change in his market ranking, Osimhen has started the 2026/27 season strongly for Galatasaray. He has scored four goals and registered one assist in his opening two league appearances. He also scored twice and provided an assist in Galatasaray’s 4–0 victory over Erzurumspor on August 21.
Osimhen remains the most valuable Nigerian footballer and one of the highest-valued centre-forwards in world football. His €75 million valuation places him among Africa’s leading players despite his recent drop in the continental ranking.
