Oyo Demolishes Building Linked to Kidnappers of Adelabu’s Sister and Her Twin Sons
The Oyo State Government has demolished a building allegedly used as a hideout by the kidnappers of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.
Authorities said the demolition underscores the state’s commitment to combating crime and maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against criminal activities.
The operation was carried out in the early hours of Monday, less than 48 hours after security operatives successfully rescued the victims. The exercise was conducted by the Oyo State Ministry of Lands and Housing in collaboration with security agencies following intelligence reports linking the property to the gang responsible for the abduction.
Mrs. John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped on June 3 along the Elewura area of Ring Road, Ibadan, while she was reportedly taking the children to school.
A coordinated rescue mission by the Nigeria Police Force led to the safe recovery of the victims, the killing of two suspected kidnappers, and the arrest of several other suspects connected to the crime.
According to government officials, investigations carried out after the rescue identified the demolished building as one of the locations where the victims were allegedly held during their captivity. The government said the action sends a strong message that criminal elements will find no safe haven i -n Oyo State.
