Concerns over the escalating insecurity in Sagamu, Ogun State, have deepened following a distressing incident on Thursday night, July 3rd, involving a local entertainer who was violently attacked and robbed.
The victim, a well-known disc jockey popularly referred to as DJ Dynamite, was returning home after performing at the ongoing Obas’ Retreat when the attack occurred around 11 p.m. According to his statement, he was ambushed by three men riding a motorcycle. The assailants physically assaulted him and forcibly took his bag, which contained his laptop and mobile phones—essential tools for his profession.
The victim also reported that the attackers spoke in a northern Nigerian language and fled the scene after he raised an alarm, hoping to alert nearby residents. Unfortunately, no immediate assistance arrived, leaving him vulnerable in a state of shock.
This incident is reflective of a broader pattern of insecurity in Sagamu, where residents have increasingly reported incidents of robbery, assault, and other violent crimes, particularly during nighttime hours.
