Saka Olanrewaju Aboriota Foundation Donates Two Dialysis Machines to OOUTH
The Saka Olanrewaju Aboriota Medical Foundation has donated two Surdial X Nipro haemodialysis machines to the Renal Dialysis Unit of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, in a move aimed at strengthening renal-care services at the tertiary health institution.
The machines were presented on Thursday as part of the Foundation’s intervention in healthcare delivery and its commitment to supporting improved access to kidney-care services in Ogun State.
Representing the Foundation’s Chairman, Pharm. Babatunde Lawal-Solarin, Mr. Tolulope Lawal-Solarin said the donation was part of the family’s efforts to preserve the legacy of Saka Olanrewaju Solarin and contribute to the development of healthcare in the community.
OOUTH currently provides nephrology and haemodialysis services. The hospital’s official information lists a functional four-bed haemodialysis unit, while the institution has received previous support for its renal-care infrastructure.
The Foundation also announced plans to donate two properties for the proposed establishment of the Saka Olanrewaju Aboriota Geriatric Care Centre in collaboration with OOUTH. The project, if completed, is expected to expand the scope of healthcare support available to elderly patients.
The Surdial X machines donated to the hospital are Nipro haemodialysis systems designed for renal replacement therapies, including conventional haemodialysis and online haemodiafiltration.
The intervention adds to ongoing efforts by individuals and organisations to strengthen specialist healthcare infrastructure at OOUTH and improve access to essential renal-care services in Ogun State.
