SHETTIMA URGES NIGERIANS TO EMBRACE PEACE, COMPASSION AT EID-EL-MAULUD

Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud to renew their commitment to peace, compassion, unity and service to humanity.
Shettima made the call in a message to Muslims in Nigeria and around the world to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
The Vice President said the life and teachings of the Prophet offer enduring lessons in mercy, humility, justice, patience and service to humanity.
He noted that the Prophet’s example demonstrated the importance of compassion, fairness and justice in leadership and everyday life.
Shettima urged Nigerians to draw inspiration from these values as the country continues to pursue economic growth under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also called on citizens to strengthen the bonds that unite them, support vulnerable members of society and reject hatred, division and intolerance.
The Vice President described Nigeria’s diversity as one of the country’s greatest strengths, stressing the need for people of different faiths and backgrounds to coexist in peace, dignity and mutual respect.
Shettima further urged Nigerians to extend kindness and generosity to less privileged members of their communities, saying the true spirit of Eid-el-Maulud should be reflected in the daily conduct of believers.
While wishing Muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful and blessed Eid-el-Maulud celebration, the Vice President prayed for lasting peace and prosperity in the country.
