Tinubu Returns to Nigeria After Four-Week Working Vacation, Dismisses Health Rumours

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending about four weeks in Europe on what the Presidency described as a working vacation.

Tinubu arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, from Paris, France, on Tuesday evening, September 29, after departing Nigeria on August 30.

Speaking briefly with journalists after his arrival, the President dismissed concerns about his health and said he remained ready to continue his official duties.

“Ready to kick, ready to walk. There’s nothing wrong,” Tinubu said, adding that rumours would always emanate from politics but that he was “healthy, sound, and ready to go.”

His extended stay abroad had generated public and political discussions, particularly over the length of his absence and concerns raised about his health. The Presidency, however, maintained that he was on a working vacation and continued official engagements while abroad.

Tinubu is expected to resume his official activities in Nigeria following his return, with the Presidency also announcing plans for meetings and engagements in Lagos before his return to Abuja.
