TRAFFIC ALERT: Heavy Gridlock Disrupts Movement at Sagamu Interchange as Cause Remains Unconfirmed

Motorists and commuters are currently experiencing heavy traffic gridlock around the Sagamu Interchange in Ogun State, with vehicular movement severely restricted along the busy corridor.
The congestion was observed on Tuesday as motorists travelling through the interchange encountered long queues involving articulated trucks, tankers, trailers, commercial vehicles and private cars.
Despite the severity of the gridlock, the immediate cause of the traffic build-up remains unconfirmed as of the time of filing this report. There has been no verified information indicating that the congestion was caused by an accident, vehicle breakdown or any other specific incident.
A commuter, Mr. Sowore Adedigba, who spoke from the scene, said the traffic appeared to have built up unexpectedly.
“When we got to the interchange point, there was no visible cause of traffic, but the gridlock is heavy,” Adedigba said.
The situation has left several motorists and commuters spending considerable time on the road, with some passengers and drivers seen waiting outside their vehicles while movement remained slow.
The Sagamu Interchange is a major transport link connecting the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway with other major routes in Ogun State and the South-West. The corridor has previously experienced significant traffic disruptions, particularly in connection with ongoing road construction and high vehicular movement.
However, those previous incidents do not establish the cause of the present gridlock, and no such cause is being reported as confirmed at this time.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution, remain patient and consider alternative routes where possible while the situation is being monitored.
