Wole Awe Gets Board Appointment at Learn Africa Plc

Nigeria’s largest educational publisher, Learn Africa Plc, has appointed capital market veteran Oluwole Awe to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director, as part of a strategic board expansion to drive long-term growth.

Awe was appointed alongside three other directors effective October 28, 2026, according to a corporate disclosure by the company.

With over 30 years of experience in Nigeria’s capital markets, Awe is the standout commercial appointment to the board of the listed publisher. His career spans stockbroking, investment banking, asset management and financial services, where he has held senior executive positions including Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria.

His appointment is expected to strengthen board oversight on financial management, capital discipline, and shareholder value creation at a time the company is repositioning for growth.

Awe joins the board with three other new members – Bisi Aina and Olanrewaju Oniyitan as Independent Non-Executive Directors, and Mufida Bello Hussain as Non-Executive Director.

Aina brings over 25 years of enterprise technology experience, including Oracle ERP and financial management systems implementation, while Oniyitan has over two decades in education reform and sustainable development. Hussain is an academic specializing in STEM education and curriculum development.

According to the board, the combined expertise of the new directors, led by Awe’s capital markets pedigree, will strengthen governance, improve organisational performance and support the company’s long-term objectives.
